My father's 03 Lexus ES300 with 78k miles is having some issues where at times the transmission from 2 to 3 gear hesitates. This occurs only in the cold morning and occurs at most, 2 times a week. Recently, my father serviced the transmission (drain and fill the transmission fluid) but the problem still exist and wondering, if any, solution(s) exist. Thank you and best wishes.

Did he replace filter also? Choices, baby it and look for reputable trans mech as it's worth rebuilding (when needed). I'd check LTFT for the purpose of knowing if there's a vacuum leak and hence find/fix (a good idea for that old a vehicle and may be related to trans issue).
