Advice on buying my first used car? Budget: $10k CAD

Advice on buying a used car/suv? I've watched boatload of Scotty's videos but it still leaves me with a ton of options.

Since it will be my first car I'm torn between getting something reliable that'll last me and something that will be fun to drive or expand my life style (such as an SUV to go camping). Feel very torn and indecisive. Watching Scotty's videos it seems like safest bet is to go with a Honda or a Toyota but not sure what make/style.

  • Budget: $10k
  • Short Commute but occasional road trips or camping trips.
  • Canadian winters friendly (Ontario)
  • Type: Fun to Drive. Car or SUV that allows for fun road trips.
  • Don't necessarily care about the latest features (seat warmers as always a bonus though)

Get to Honda Civic and if you can drive manual, get the standard transmission.

It is fun, reliable (I mean bullet proof) and I still think you can go camping with that car.

Thanks Yaser!

No problem!
Get a hatchback to have a more practical car.
