Hey scotty, My family has a 2003, Suzuki Alto 800cc , Indian car, done just over 80,000miles, recently noticed the car was overheating, because the electric fan wasn't turning on. I changed the relay which was also over heating itself. It ran fine for few days, today it again overheated in a simple city drive. Now the mechanic says, since you've used a bad low quality relay, it melted and short the ECU, mechanic says me to replace the ECU now. Car runs great, just fan doesn't switch on, and overheats. Its known to be a reliable little 800cc, car here in India. Should I replace the ECU just because the fan issue, please reply:)

If you're getting the ECU replaced, make sure that your mechanic is using an OEM one. Otherwise, if the job goes wrong, then you'd have to get rid of the car.
