A few months ago I bought a touch screech radio unit for my 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix. The battery died and I charged up the battery but after that the radio stopped working. I tested the wires and all had power so I figured the unit was done and put the original unit back in. Tonight I put another unit in with a new interface and it work with the engine not running but the key on. However, when I started the car it shorted out that unit and interface as well. At this point I have no idea what to do to fix this problem and don’t won’t to keep throwing money at it with new units and interfaces.
Okay work with the key on but when you start the car it shorted it out. Therefore you have a shorten the wiring system going to that radio somewhere. My advice would be to just forget the wires. The power of the radio that are on it now cut them away from the wiring system and run them direct to the battery using their own wires and fuse
