Raising a car up enough to change a rear differential

Hi,

I'm planning on swapping out a rear diff on a car in my driveway, and I'm wondering what you use to get cars safely high enough to work on something like that?  Just a jack and jack stands, or is there some other solution I maybe don't know about?

On my truck you can just put jackstands under it you don't even need to lift it up just take the tires off and unbolt the shocks and sway bar driveshaft and other attachments it will lower off

I've seen people do in their driveways by jacking up the car and placing it on jack stands. It's enough room to do the job, but it may get a little uncomfortable because you have to work with somewhat heavy components while laying down. But that's how car work is done at home anyways...the good old fashioned jacking up and crawling under the car lol.
