Pinging on regular fuel

Mr, scotty I have a 2017 promaster city it does no like running regular fuel, it detonates pings under load during the summer months is there anything that can be done for this?

the van run great it has no codes showing at this time is has 53000 miles mpg city is 25 hwy is 28-29 miles per gal. runs good on premium fuel no noise.

On page 235 in your owners manual states "While operating on gasoline with an octane number of 87,
hearing a light knocking sound from the engine is not a
cause for concern."

If you experience problems only when using regular fuel but none when premium, I suggest you stick to the premium.

this can happen if the mixture is too lean. Looks for vacuum leaks, weak fuel pressure, etc. Using a diagnostic tool to analyze engine data would greatly help to narrow down the problem.
