Hey Scotty, on my 97 Pathfinder with 180k miles, I notice on cool or cold mornings that are especially damp, I get a rattling noise coming from the pulley and belt area and by the fan.
I know it’s not from the engine, because when I spray the pulley area when it’s making the noise it immediately stops. Belts are all new.
Any ideas? How do I isolate the exact pulley? I believe it’s the pulley at the top only because when I spray water directly there it’s stops. But when I use screwdriver to my ear I don’t hear anything.
Looks like an idler pulley bearing going bad. Pretty sure you can buy the whole thing from nissan still.

Might be that, might also be the water pump/pulley or the AC clutch.
And if the belt is too tight or too loose it can cause similar issues. Should only be able to turn the belt 1/4 way in deflection without any side to side movement. So you should be able to turn the belt from the top and face it towards the front of the vehicle.

Thanks! I’ll try that test out.
My a/c compressor assembly is new. Changed this past summer. Noise was since before.
