Hi i have a kia sedona 2006 with about 230 000km automatic front wheel drive.I have transmission problem only at start up.I have to wait for it to warm up even in the summer for about 15 min.If i dont warm it up it knocks and dont move from the driveway but once it is nice and warm it drive like a charm no problem.What could it be? People told me my transmission is finished but the vehicle run super smooth once it is warmed up.
Posted this on another similar question but if you have a transmission that's starting to go out, sometimes you can overfill the transmission just by a half a quart or so and it will move into gears more freely. It builds the pressure required to operate the valve body more easily. It doesn't work on every car but I have done it more than once and it worked.

It has been like that for a year.Would it not be acting up other than having to be warmed up?
It depends, every vehicle is different. Since it’s old & not worth anything, keep driving it till it finally stops working. It might go years that way.
