Hey Scotty! My boyfriend and I are trying to fix up my mom’s 1995 suburban so she can use it, but there’s a problem with the car overheating. We don’t see any leaks, the car starts and runs, and nothing seems to be wrong with the transmission or engine. At this point, we’re not sure how to fix it, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Recently, my boyfriend and I have decided that we want to fix up my mom’s 1995 suburban. The car starts every time, no check lights pop up, the car runs, and nothing seems wrong with the transmission or engine. Problem is, the car overheats, making it difficult to drive it. We would like some advice or suggestions on what could be wrong with the car, or ways to test or fix the car. Thank you in advance for the help!

Is there foam on the oil cap or anything like that? How long does it take to overheat? If it overheats immediately it could be as simple as a thermostat stuck closed. Worst case is you have a blown head gasket.

I was a pilot and worked in the Aircraft Industry. Can not make out your avatar, old peepers. Care to describe your pic?

Nice. I only piloted the C150, 152, Citabria, and that boat C172. It had such a bad envelope, Richthofen could have taken me out with his triplane.

Hahaha I love the 172! I have a few hundred hours in the 150, 152 & 172.

The B737 is almost like a big 172.
