Your transmission may be slipping. You didn't mention the mileage.

Sorry, 150000 miles

If there aren't any signs of leaks, that may definitely be the case. Do you have any records of the transmission being serviced?

no, there are no signs of oil leaks. and unfortunately I have no documents regarding transmission maintenance... what do you recommend I do? Thank you

If you're nearby Scotty, he checks out transmissions, but doesn't work on them. That would at least zero in on your problem.

Find a trustworthy mechanic who specializes in transmissions check it out. Don't go to any kind of chain store.

could it be the torque converter?

Maybe. You'll need a fancy scan tool for that, though. Scotty uses an Innova 5160 RS scan tool that can read transmission related codes, but that's $350. I don't know for certain that live data will be useful or not as far as torque converter stuff. I've considered getting it a few times, but that's a steep price for just messing around.

..anyway Scotty is great!
