RAV4 2007 2.4 liter fwdrive
Bought and over paid used 07 RAV4.. I have a bunch of issues... Transmission. Oil burning. Shocks. Break bars.... But the main issue now is. Around 2000rpm I'm getting rpm jumps near 4th gear and around 40 to 60mph.... it's jumping between 2100rpms to 1000rpms.. kinda like hesitation.. but I don't get it on the highway going 60mph and above. and every once in awhile a hard high pitch grind noise going up or down hill between 2nd and 3rd gear near the transmission but it only lasts a second... And when the car starts up in the morning cold I do have some power issues. Motor mounts need to be changed all the shocks need to be changed. I changed out the transmission fluid around 160kmiles. I've done three transmission fluid changes. The oil pan gasket was broken it was leaking oil when I bought it. I discovered the oil leak and changed out the oil pan gasket. I can't really afford to go to a mechanic and get the car fixed I don't gap insurance. And this car is keeping me alive. financially I'm under water and I have to fix this or at least figure out what is exactly wrong. Unfortunately your transmission is going out. I don't rebuild those things and when you look at the cost of that plus you have an oil burner that's going to need the engine rebuilt because of piston rings are wearing out. I'd probably say goodbye to the car
