2004 or 2007 rav4 6cyl. 265000km. How would I know if there is trani problems before I purchase.

Easiest thing to check if if the transmission dipstick. If there are metal shimmers ehh... Also is that fluid low? And then drive the car extensively. Make sure it shifts gears smoothly and actually goes to every gear

I would put your car into reverse and drive a couple of times without letting off the brake to see if you feel the car jump, then I would check to see if the transmission fluid is black and if you are unable to check it I would look up the manufactures recommendation for a transmission flush, to get somewhat of an idea whether its bad or not. Then I would drive it through all gears to see if it slips into all gears smoothly.
