2004 Pontiac Grand AM GT

150K miles

 

Issue:  The Driver side window will only go down less than 1 inch and stops.  It will go back up.

Question:  Is this looking like:

- Window off track?

- Window Regulator replacement

- Needing to replace the control switch panel on the door?

I'd pop the door panel and see what it looks like under there. Then you can really see what the issue is.

When I bought my first car, its driver power window did not go all the way down. It was known to me it had been involved in a traffic accident, so I decided to remove the door panel. I noticed the door's bottom had been filled with polyutherane foam.

After removing it the power window went all way down normally.
