I have a rear suspension squeak that happens over severe bumps or when I'm accelerating (when I'm accelerating it happens constantly). The only thing that I can think of is that the rear coil springs need replaced. I replaced both upper and lower control arms, watts link, shocks, sway bar links, and rear coil spring insulators. They all had a reason to be replaced other than the coil spring insulators. The rear control arm bushings were shot. The watts link bushings weren't in great shape so I just decided to replace it, and the sway bar links were right there so I replaced them at the same time. I replaced the front struts so I decided to also replace the rear shocks. Replacing the rear control arms helped a lot but the squeak is still there. When I first got the car I don't think there was a squeak but I also wasn't really paying attention to it and it depends on the day sometimes it's really loud other days it's pretty quiet. After I pressed the fire suppression button (dumb I know) it activated the system and it went everywhere, and a few days - a week later is when I think I first noticed it. But the only thing I can think of is the rear coil springs like I said. If anyone else has any ideas I would appreciate it. The only place I can find Police interceptor springs is from Eaton Detroit Springs but they're quite expensive. 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (P7B).
https://youtu.be/d7w95QrurI8 here's a video I took a while ago it's the more "metallic" sounding squeak.
spray them with some lube and see if the squeak disappears
Already did and didn’t do anything
then it's not the springs. keep looking
Any other ideas I’m stumped. I’m thinking about just taking it to ford and letting them look at it
"ideas" is the last thing you need. You've replaced almost the entire suspension by now.
Somebody needs to go down there with hands and eyeballs and ears, and start following the sound.
The dealer is just going to start selling you stuff you don't need. At least use a real mechanic.
Yeah that makes sense but I’m just going to have them look at it and not replace anything then whatever they point out I’ll look at and have a second opinion but there’s not that many independent shops around here and I don’t know if any of them are trustworthy.
