I have a 2007 Toyota Tundra 5.7L and need to know how to access online recall information. Looked up my VIN and says there are multiple recalls and after trying to access the specific recalls as to what those recalls are actually for, I had no luck, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!
I don't know where you looked, but it took less than 10 seconds to find multiple sources with a simple internet search. Here are a few:
https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/
https://www.toyota.com/recall/
@chucktobias Awesome! Thank you for this information.
Did you use https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls ? It would be a good starting point. Without knowing your VIN it's difficult to link directly.
@hixster Thank you. this was the website I was looking for to provide a detailed explanation of the recalls. Some websites that I was looking at did not provide any details. Thanks again.
The question is answered in our FAQ. You’ll have to contact Toyota to have the recalls addressed.
Yes, I understand I would need to take it to a Toyota dealership in my area. The issue is what is the recall for and I do not see any available information regarding being able to look that up. The last think I want to do is go to the dealership and end up having repairs done that are not necessary or repairs that I would do myself.
@cosmos then tell them you want only the recall work done. Toyota can look up the recalls for you and tell you what they are for. Or go to the NHTSA website like we said. It describes the recalls. By the way, I was talking about contact "Toyota" . Dealerships are car groups. They are not Toyota. The manufacturer will take recalls more seriously.
