Hey Scotty. I have a 2007 Toyota Yaris. I noticed that my Red Oil Light would come on when I brake at a intersection and it will go off after I brake. Normally my orange MAINTENANCE REQUIRED light would come on when I’m due for a oil change. I’m really worried about the red oil light. Does it mean something else? Can the weather have an effect on my car’s oil pressure and levels?

To protect your engine against excess wear the oil and filter should be changed every 5000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first. Check oil level and add as needed. Test actual oil pressure with a mechanical gauge.
