Remanufactured transmission

Hey I drive a 2008 Chevy Tahoe LT 5.3L V8 Flexfuel with about 213,000 miles, it doesn't have any problems but i've been looking at genuine GM remanufactured parts just in case it ever bites the dust and i'm wondering if $2,350.85 is a fair price for a remanufactured 4L60E automatic transmission. It says it will come with an at least 12 month warranty.

Also I don't remember when was the last time I had the transmission serviced, should I get it serviced or is it a bad idea?

where are you located?

what does your ATF look like right now?

From what I've heard, they are good remanufactured transmission, by-and-large. If you know some independent shops that deal with these particular trannys, ask them.

There was a guy here who said he got one for less than $1,000. I'll try to find the post ...

My bad it was $2,000. Precision Transmissions and they're East coast only.

Precision makes good transmissions. Just wanted to note that.

Depending where you are, you may be a $100 or so high or low but that is pretty close to the right price.

Then yeah that's definitely a fair price.

yeah, if your engine is still strong you might still get plenty more life out of your truck

Price seems good, whether the "remanufactured" transmission would last is another story.
