I'm renting this Chevy Cruze from Hertz and I'm having some mechanical issues with it. When I shift it into park, the car will still roll as if its in neutral. Probably the parking pin is broken. Are you financially liable for mechanical problems on a rental car (that were not as a result of a colission)

Did you notice the issue when you picked it up from the rental office or did it start while you were driving it?
You need to let them know ASAP so they can put you in another vehicle. Mechanical breakdowns are not put on the renter unless it is due to abuse.

It started when I was driving it. The car is still drivable, the park pawl broken is just an inconvenience issue
