Hello Scotty! Long time fan here and possibly a distant relative. My stepdad is Robert Kilmer. Anyway I’m trying to replace the catalytic converter on my 97 ford E super duty tritonV10 6.8l on my 26ft c class four wind majestic. It’s hard to find the one I need to buy to replace it and it’s not going to be an exact fit considering it was hacked off without discretion. I would like to buy this one
PULCHERFLOW Catalytic Converter Compatible with 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 Ford F250/F350 Super Duty 6.8L & 5.4L High Performance (EPA Compliant)
but Amazon recommends the
Walker Exhaust Ultra EPA 54437 Direct Fit Catalytic Converter 97-2002
The one they recommend isn’t in my budget but I noticed the years overlap so I was wondering if the one I can afford would work? I’m also curious if there’s a way to mount it without welding? Such as clamps or silicon sleeves until I can get it somewhere that I can have it welded. Until I can afford to get a protective screen over it it would be nice if I could take it on and off.
thank you for all the help over the years!
PJ
Well for my experience the Walker cats always work. I couldn't say about the other ones. You might try some muffler shops if they're still any left in your area. They do good welding and they know where to get stuff too
