I have a 1990 ford ranger 2.9 with 180k miles. I have new fan belts and alternator belts, a new TPS, MAP sensor, IAC module, air filter and I've cleaned the throttle damper.
Since I put the new belts in, my rpms will surge about 1000 rpms (only at highway speeds) when I switch on any accessories; The headlights, windshield wipers, radio, AC.
The belts that I replaced were much smaller and not meant for the truck but I never had this problem until the new belts that actually were rated for high speeds was put on

Get the correct size belts and install them.
