Good morning Scotty, I have a 2004 Jeep grand Cherokee Limited 4 x 4 4.7 L V8. When I make a slow turns I hear rumbling noise. Could that be caused from the transfer case? I took it to a shop and they were telling me was my rear so I put a used rear end differential in  and still do it. I can’t find videos about noises that  I’m describing when making slow turns, rumbling noise please help anybody Thanks

If you jerk your steering wheel from side-to-side while driving (someplace where it is safe to so so!), do you get the sound when steering to one side? If so it could be a bad wheel bearing.

Scotty has a video on finding the source of noises on cars where he uses a gadget that used microphones placed strategically under the vehicle. You might try to find a mechanic who has the equipment to do that.

No not from going from  side to side , just slow turning, like going around the corner or into a parking spot.

I would say then that more investigation needs to be done as to the actual source of the noise. Does it make the noise if the Jeep is put into 2WD? That would take the front and center differentials out of the picture.

Have not tried that, but I will thanks
