Hi on my Explorer, I noticed on the right rear door panel right above the tire there is some rust flaking off. Should I knock all the rust off, then paint it with touch up paint let it dry, then spray it with clearcoat rust proofer?

Will you want to remove as much roast as possible and sometimes you find out it'll keep going and I'll have a big hole that you're going to have to fix with either metal or fiberglass but do get rid of all the rust then spray it with rust ceiling primer then paint it

Remove as much as you can and then coat it with a rust neutralizer. There’s several on the market
