Hi Scotty, my 16th birthday is coming up and I live in michigan. For my first car, I would like something sporty like a charger, but I am worried about the winter months for a rwd car. Any good sports cars that can handle the snow?

No. Get yourself a Honda Civic if you like a sporty car.

Find out how much it will cost to insure what you want to buy. 16 yo drivers cost a lot to insure. Ones with performance cars, yikes!

Type in ‘first car’ in the search box of this website in the top right corner. You’ll find numerous threads.

All the best.

Sporty=go fast? Or just look like go fast? Cause if it go fast then you got a problem, ya gonna wreak it before you know it. If you want something that looks fast get the frs-brz-86 thing. Lucky you getting spoiled at 16.

What is the deal with everyone wanting a Charger these days?

Anyway, not a good idea. They are terrible in the snow and it's a Dodge....poor quality.

For AWD, look at Subaru.

Put a 16 year old in a Charger, that will end in disaster since teens like to drive fast and often wreck their first cars especially fast ones. Also those things fall apart pretty quickly and it’s even worse if it’s a young driver who likes to drive them hard. Since you live in a snowy area, go for an all-wheel-drive Subaru (not an STI). Maybe even try a Honda Civic since they feel faster than they really are and they handle curves and corners very well. Going 40 in a Civic feels like 60 but when I’m doing 40 in other cars, it feels like I’m doing 25 lol

Ford Crown Vic/Mercury Marquis/Lincoln Town car, whichever you can find cheapest. Its got a big ol' V8 that you can brag about to your pals, and when you inevitably get into a smash there is about 142,000lb of steel to protect you.

If you can afford it, get a 2018 camry xse v6. They have 300hp and are still relatively safe and really sporty and will put a smile on your face.
