I was looking for a first car but I want something pretty sporty.
I found a 2000 Mazda Mx-5 Miata for $7,150 with 186k miles (Automatic Transmission).
And I also found a 2002 Honda S2000 for $13,000 with 166k miles (Standard Transmission).
Both are modified and have clean titles, plus the owner of each, mentioned the maintenance that have already been done to it. Which vehicle should I go for?
@hixster Will stock be a better option? I knew a friend who owned a Lancer, ran beautifully.
@lukeg_791118 Yes, a stock vehicle is a far better choice for most owners, and especially for a first time car owner. Choose something you like, but something that's reliable and which has low maintenance costs. Modified cars rarely fit into either category
Also @chucktobias 's answer was formed from experience. He gave you sound advice and doesn't deserve the 'down vote'. He's right about both cars. Either car could easily leave you sitting instead of driving.
Sorry you don't like the response (down vote) but the fact is that neither vehicle you mention sounds worthwhile.
None of the above.
