Hi there, I am trying to figure out what does S/D mean on my gear shifter. I have a 2007 toyota voxy trans x Automatic Transmission.
If I'm not mistaken these are equipped with a CVT rather than a conventional auto. D is drive, S is sport. You may also have B or L, which refers to crawling gears for going uphill or downhill.
Hope this helps!
Thanks I appreciate your help
The "S" means Sport. You have a choice. "D" (Drive, automatic) or "S" which functions like a standard or manual transmission. You either have a second shifter next to it, or paddle shifters on the steering wheel, where you can manually change gears.
Thanks I appreciate your help
On most cars with automatic transmissions the S/D is a manual mode. You can shift into different gears manually without the clutch.
Thanks I appreciate your help
Always glad to help.
