Scanner still says camshaft sensor is bad

The obd2 scanner said my camshaft sensor was bad so I replaced it. It stopped jerking back and forth really bad but it still does it and more importantly it didn't start and I had to jump it to get home from work the day before yesterday. I replaced the battery today and it still died out at a red light. And yesterday it died in the drive though at McDonald's. When it's stopped I'm worried it's going to die out. At work and McDonald's I had to jump it but now I have a new battery so MAYBE it will just start back up. Please help me out. I love your channel. I'm not a car guy and it has helped me learn a little bit about cars. I have an 04 pt cruiser base. Is it really that bad of a car? I got it for free.Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you for your time.

I'd suggest getting your alternator tested as it may not be charging the battery too well.

As for the camshaft sensor, it could be that a new sensor is good but the wiring/circuit has a problem. Check for any shorts and corrosion.

It's also true that new is not known good. Keep that in mind, too.
