Hi there! I have a ‘15 Scion tC, automatic, 33k miles. I’ve noticed this issue for a while and it’s driving me crazy, while braking, when coming to a stop, I hear a click noise when the transmission downshifts from 2-1. It doesn’t happen all the time, but it worries me, the click noise happens right as the downshift is felt, only in 2-1. I’ve taken it to Toyota and they said they can’t replicate, they did a transmission health check and it was good, I did a drain and fill with them for the transmission and also had them reset the TCM but the noise is still there. Is this normal? It’s a u760e transmission. I’m so lost. Thanks Scotty! No CEL btw.
Are you sure it is coming from the transmission? Those are sealed units and they are very picky about how much fluid they have. I would check to make sure you have the right level of transmission fluid in it.
