Hi,
my multimeter measures 36 kohms of resistance for all but one coil. I drive an auto with 175k miles. Most people say the coils should measure around 2 ohms of resistance max at the primary coil. Is my multimeter malfunctioning? 3 coils measure 36 kohms so it’s consistent and one measures oL (bad coil?). The coils are all stock and i do feel like the car is misfiring and poor acceleration. Also the spark plugs are new and factory copper per the owners manual. Why the consistently high ohm reading?
realize that a static test like that a coils is pretty much useless these days the only way you can truly test ignition coils is using a freeze frame of oscilloscope and analyzing the waveform data but if it's misfiring what the heck buy some new coils at a place like AutoZone if it doesn't fix it they have a very liberal return policy
