Just bought a 7.3 idi 1991 xlt lariat. The beast is real dirty, power windows are stuck, and leaking in some spots but runs strong. Had my mechanic roomate "friend" check it out and he told me it was solid besides minor parts that can be easily swapped out. You have said to your audience that you think Ford makes the best trucks so that is part of the reason I have been looking at an OBS (old body style) ford. My dad let me drive his 95 f150 manual in high school which I was missing. Bought the thing for 3k cash. I love the diesel sound and "power" although I haven't owned it long enough to get it registered or see how much she can pull. I think your audience would love your opinions on old work horse all mechanical trucks. With the chaos being summoned forth and more people looking into off griding and homesteading I for one would love to hear your thoughts and advice. Thanks Scotty!
Those trucks are beasts. My grandfather has a 96' 7.3 that he bought in 97' with a few thousand miles on her. It now has over 250,000 miles and is barely broken in. None of the problems it's had were relating to the engine itself. The only big ones he's had is a couple starters and an engine computer.
