I have a 1996 carolla 1.6, 3 speed auto,112k miles although i do have code now for egr (p0401 if i remember right) the issue has been happening before the egr code came up and has been happening for a while ..
Say im driving and get up to a steady speed ...say 40mph, the car seems to almost stutter for a milisecond and the rpm's seems to rise ...not to extreme but noticable ..
Does this sound like a torque converter issue ? Didnt you say your celica has a worn torque converter in a past video? If it sounds like the torque converter is there anything i can do to help this isssue ..what else could it be if its not the converter?
Well generally this either a torque converter problem or an internal transmission problem and those older Corollas did have a tendency to get failed transmissions as they aged often the differential assembly of the transmission will wear and start to do that
Would a fluid change and some lucas maybe help this ? If so would you put a full quart of lucas in this tranny or just half quart? Im not sure of the amount of fluid that drains when doing a drain and fill..but i wouldnt think its more than 3 or 4 quarts in this 3 speed tranny.. can these last a while with this issue?
Thanks scotty
