No start after using voltage tester, P0864

Read my question up top

Scotty I have a 2006 Passat 2.0t fsi automatic and I stuck a voltage tester in my cigarette lighter and a huge spark came out and when I try to start it it turns over and wants to start but can’t I got code p0864

Looks like that voltage tester might have done some major damage. That code indicates your engine computer and transmission computer are no longer on speaking terms. See diagnostic information for P0864 in the links below.

However it appears that trouble starting is not a symptom related to that code. Start with the troubleshooting information in the site FAQ and see if that helps track down the problem.

you probably had the meter in current measuring configuration (dead short). change the cigar lighter fuse.
