What is a good reliable Sedan under 10k to buy? I have seen a few 2014/5 Nissan Sentra's around that mark. Are they decent?

Don't go near the Nissan. Look for a good Camry or Accord or Avalon. They can last forever if you maintain them well.

2005 and older. The engine in those have oil sludge issues.

Toyotas 2AZ-FE engines tend to burn oil (mainly from 2007 to 2009)
Burning oil leads to clogging of a CAT and issues with oxygen sensors.
in the 2010ish era camry accord sonata all had some kind of oil burning issue lol
would look at a v6 accord or camry
