Shaking steering wheel

Hello all !!

While driving over 40mph my steering wheel shakes.

3 days ago I have fit brand new tyres and balanced them too.

While wheels were off, I have noticed that my break pads need to be replaced - but I don’t think that’s the cause.

Many thanks for your help!

Take it back to where you bought the new tyres.

Ask them to fix it. Most likely, it’s to do with the wheel balancing, or the lack of it.

Well, let's face the facts if it didn't shake before you had the tires replaced, either they didn't balance them correctly or they're bad tires which can't be balanced correctly. I have seen that now. If it did shake before, it could be your brake rotors or out around and they can make it shake too

Thanks Scotty,

I forgot to mention that it actually happened 3 days after I have changed wheels.
I have thought that I might lost one of the “weights” on the wheel too

Time to change breaks I guess.

Thank you for your help!!

More often than not, if your steering wheel shakes the issue is on the front of the vehicle, if your seat shakes then it's on the rear.

It is only steering wheel, thanks Hixter.
