I’m having with my 2012 hyundai Genesis 3.8 sedan . 165k miles got it at 150k miles and had no problem at all until about a month ago . Transmission started acting strange ( hard shift into 2nd then slips into 3rd ) I did a small transmission fluid drain and added new fluid with no results. I’m wondering if it could be maybe a sensor ( transmission/ wheel speed sensor) or possibly the solenoids . Even tried the Lucas transmission fix additive and no help. Next option would be to replace the whole transmission.
Failed sensors or solenoids usually trigger a warning light on the instrument panel.
Unfortunately, Hyundai isn't known for strong transmissions (or cars). I would personally get rid of the thing.
I’m thinking it could be a sensor as well I’m reading that the speed sensor is close to the front struts that I recently had changed and it they pull the wire hard it can cause faults . It’s a very good looking car with the tech package fully loaded id hate to get ride of it
Iv had it checked the only codes are misfire cylinder #1 which went away and c1648
How was it checked? You need a professional-grade, dealer-level scan tool to read transmission codes on most cars. Was a snapshot of transmission data recorded for analysis?
I have my obd2 scan tool and also took it to a transmission shop and they had the fancy scan tool they didn’t mention finding anything wrong
Obviously there's something wrong and in a modern transmission that should show up in the data. You might want to ask them for specifics on what they did in the way of diagnosis.
Not your specific problem but here's an example of the kind of diagnostics that can be required to track down a transmission problem. A quick scan for codes is not always enough.

Where can I find someone to do this in OC California
I don't know anyone in California but there are some mechanic referrals in the FAQ.
If you have not already done so you really need to have it diagnosed by a good transmission specialist with a fancy scan tool.
