I have recently noticed that the fluid level appears to be low. It has been shifting alright, a little difficult to take it out of park. It has 201,909 Miles on it. About 40,000 of that I have driven. I don't know when/if the fluid was last changed.

You could add some and see what happens. Whatever you do, do not do a drain and refill.
The fluid barely shows on the dipstick. How much should I add?
Start off with one quart of what the recommended fluid is from the owner's manual. Then drive and see what happens. If you need more than that, you add more in little by little until you feel it drives fine.
