Just saw a 2008 Rav4 Sport 4 cylinder listed for $9,500 81,000 miles clean title, and 2 owners. Is this a good price and is this the year they still had bad engines and burned oil?

Yes, if that RAV4 has the 2.4L 2AZ-FE 4-cylinder engine it's an oil burner. The price is too high for a 15-year-old model and the low mileage is suspicious.
