I see a private seller selling a 2009 Honda CRV with 68,705 Mi on it. It's a one owner and regularly maintenance, no rust with recently overhauled ac system with all brand new oem factory parts(according to the owner). Selling for $9,900. The condition looks very good via online. Is it too much and too old of a purchase even if it checks out mechanically to consider for a long term reliable daily?

Well they are excellent vehicles for mechanic says it's in good shape. Go ahead and buy it. I try to pay less but you never know. Realize you're getting an older vehicle with no warranty so should be able to talk it down a little
