I want to protect the dashboard from cracks and damage. I live in California.
It should help, as would using one of those shiny things you can put inside the windshield when parked in the sun.
Oh you mean a sunshade. I use that too when parked to help the car from being very hot inside. The seller of the dashboard cover said it is basically a great investment for the car, but of course their bias haha.
I use a dash cover on one of my cars but it's because the dashboard is already cracked and it looks better with the cover. It wouldn't hurt to get one for your car but if a particular seller is giving you the hard sell I'd shop around a bit. (In general the harder the sales pitch the worse the product is.)
