Should I buy a used or refurbished engine for my Jeep Cherokee?

I have a 2016 Jeep Cherokee 3.2L 6 cylinder. 91,000 miles and automatic. Just found out the motor is no good and my warranty company won't cover it due being a burnt valve. I see Frasper and Jasper engines online. Do you recommend me to buy one of these engines online that are much cheaper?

If you just have a burnt valve, why not get a rebuilt head put on it instead of a rebuilt engine?

I meant to say "heads."

For how much? Regardless of what it'll cost you, Id put the money towards a better vehicle.

Used engines are a gamble. If you want to do that, have a dry/wet compression test done on the motor.

Jasper is a good company to buy an engine from. Other companies to consider: Powertrain Products, ATK
