I am looking to buy a used 2014 Lexus GS 350 with a 3.5 V6 from a friend of a friend with 100,000 miles. I went to look at it and was ready to buy it. I scan the computer and retrieve multiple DTCs and the owner says its no big deal, even though the engine ran horribly on the test drive. Additionally, the owner said not to worry about the check engine lights as its an old code and the issue was ‘fixed’ without resetting the computer. However, the owner would not even let me bring my mechanic to check it out before purchase. Should I see this as a red flag? Keep looking or worth fixing?
