Should I change my transmission fluid

I got a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 142000 miles with the automatic. I want to know if I should change the fluid, It shifts well but I want to make it last longer. Also the fluid has been changed before at around 100k miles. If I do change the fluid, does it matter if i use the OEM or can I get a similar fluid.

If it was done at 100k it should be fine to do it again. For the sake of longevity I would use whatever fluid it calls for

Should I put a bottle of transmission slip fix as preventative maintenance. It doesn’t slip now, but I dont want to have it slip. Will it hurt anything if I do?

no. If it runs fine, then don't add anything.

Very true if there is no issue do not add anything and 9/10 times if there is an issue an additive won’t fix it anyways

For the most life, use OEM and don’t add any additives.  Also, make sure you drain and fill at regular intervals - stay on top of that.  Drive normal and baby it, and should last a while.
