I have a 2010 corolla with the automatic transmission with around 62 thousand miles. I want to keep this car till the wheels fall off and was wondering if i should change my transmission fluid( i just acquired this car). From what I've read online people say you shouldn't diy this kind of thing. Is that true or can i do it myself and can i buy aftermarket fluid or should i stick to the dealer fluid? I've also noticed these vehicles tend to burn oil later on, is there a way i can prevent this for as long as possible or is it inevitable despite my best efforts? Thanks😁
For the ATF, change it with WS fluid. There are many videos on YouTube on how to do this. For the oil burning, as long as you change the oil and filter regularly, you should be fine.
Change the trans fluid and filter. Do not flush. When you change your engine oil and filter (frequently) also change out the PCV valve.
