Dear Scotty,
I have a 2022 Honda Odyssey with 13K miles. It's my first Honda and my first vehicle with any system that might shut down cylinders to increase gas mileage. I wasn't aware that the van had VCM when I bought it, but the very idea of a system shutting down cylinders had always left me feeling uncomfortable, so when I learned the van has VCM, I started wondering if I should disable it, or if Honda has their act together so good with this system that I don't need to be concerned about it.
Is there any downside to disabling VCM other than reduced gas mileage? Would you disable it if it was your van? If I decide to disable it, would you have any recommendations (or warnings) regarding the products currently available to do the job?
Thank you for whatever insights you might share.
Rick
I personally would disable it. The only downside is you'll get worse gas mileage
Thank you! I'll research product options and choose one. 🙂
