I’m been thinking about getting the new 2021 VW Altas. But I’m planning on owning it at least for 10 years. But I have heard from many people don’t ever buy a VW there are great for leasing because part and repair become to expensive compare to a Toyota or Honda. And they are not that reliable. What do you guys think? Should I buy a VW Altas or look for another 3 row SUV and which one?

I would avoid buying one of those. They fall apart pretty quick and parts are expensive.

Definitely don’t.

VW makes great small agile diesel hatchbacks in Europe, Not big petrol suvs.

The Highlander, 4Runner and the Sequoia are all better built.

Honda has some alright SUVs

The Subaru Evoltis is not recommended, it’s TR690 Linetronic is known to develop many issues, but overall it’s much more reliable then the Atlas.

AVOID any Nissan or Mitsubishi products they have incredibly flawed transmissions.

Thanks

I would get a Toyota Highlander or 4Runner instead for value for the money and dependable transportation. However if you get the Atlas, I would also buy a bus pass.

😂 lol hybrid or gas ? Fwd or awd?

@Dan is correct, I would grab a Toyota Highlander and drive that till the motor gave out.

Gas or hybrid?

Definitely get your self a gasoline / diesel one. Hybrid batteries wear out relatively fast and cost a fortune to replace.

Gas for sure.

VW quality has been going downhill for a while.  Therefore, I would only get the VW Atlas under a lease and a warranty.  Even under warranty, you still might find yourself taking the vehicle in for repairs more often than you like because of all the overengineered German tech.  Since you are looking to keep for 10 years, I would recommend against it.  Instead, look at a Toyota Sequoia, Highlander, Lexus GX460.

Gas or hybrid? Fwd or awd?

@TheTrellesDad, get the gas versions. For the Toyota Sequoia, get RWD - however, if you need 4WD then get that. For the Highlander, get FWD unless you need 4WD. Finally, for the Lexus GX460 it is only offered in 4WD.

Run away don't even consider one problems start nearly instantly you don't want to deal with that plus the horrendous resale value grab yourself a Highlander

If you don't need AWD, get yourself a gasoline FWD

Run away fast, endless moneypit! Get a Highlander instead.

Gas of hybrid? Fwd or awd?

You would probably be better off getting a gas unit. FWD or AWD is up to you. If you feel you need AWD then go ahead and get it. If you don't think you will need AWD then just get FWD.
