Looking to buy a used Rav 4 pre 2016. I have read of the transmission problems they have and wonder if I should just focus on buying a 2016 instead. Price difference is a few thousand dollars and prob will save me some headaches long term but if I can save a few thousand bucks and get an older one the money I would save would help put a few more bologna sandwiches in my gut. What you would want to do is take the VIN to a Toyota dealer to see if the transmission problem has been fixed.
