Hey Scotty,
I'm considering buying a 2017 Camry with 110,000 miles. Upon asking the sales place if it's still available, I was informed that it hit a deer yesterday and won't be available for a few weeks. My concern is will it be fixed correctly. Should I still pursue or do you think it's no longer worth it? Thanks.
Although price is generally the most important factor, a wrecked car shouldn't be your first choice when looking for any car. Since the extent of the damage is unknown, any claims or promises about its future condition are irrelevant. It could be unavailable for an entirely different, it could be in the shop, someone's wife could be driving it.. many other reasons. My point is you don't trust a sales person.I was informed that it hit a deer yesterday and won't be available for a few weeks.
That was your chance to go in and see it before they did "dealer magic" to it.
My concern is will it be fixed correctly.
hahaha. That's adorable. It's a car dealer. They want to sell it, not drive it for 20 years. They are going to expend the absolutely minimum amount of time and money to close a deal and that car out the door.
And of course ... as Scotty says over and over and over ... never buy a car without a professional inspection.
