I have a 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer SEL with just under 70,000 miles on it that was bought brand new. It's been in the shop for nearly 8 weeks now since the warranty is dragging it's feet on paying to fix the CVT transmission that has now gone out twice in a year's span. The first time, they flushed the fluid and couldn't replicate the fail error. Now, the second time, they're saying they are only going to replace the valve body as the rest of the transmission shows no signs of wear. My question is, if this "fixes" it, should I trade the thing in and get a different car (I'm torn between a Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla or a Subaru Impreza, with a MANUAL transmission) or do you think it may be worth it to keep the car as it is financed and is still a couple years out from being paid off?
Get rid of it and get a manual transmission. You'll never go back to an automatic again, unless it's a TH350, TH400 or a 700R4.
Dump it.
Third times the charm, dump it.
