Hi Scotty,
I noticed in my first 5k service for my 2026 camry hybrid at Toyota that they did not do an oil change as they said it was not due until 10k service. Do you recommend an oil change sooner?

Change your oil and filter at no more than 5,000 mile intervals if you want your engine to last.

Yes, The Motor Oil Geek has a video covering this specific topic. While his recommendations might seem excessive, the science backs him up. Waiting for 10,000 miles to change your oil for the first time? Way too long!Do you recommend an oil change sooner?

A new engine that is breaking in sheds more metal. I would have done it at 1k mi, and then again at 5k mi.
10,000 mile interval is not smart. Never do that.
