Hey, Scotty, what do you think of the Dodge Hornet, why does nobody buy a Dodge Hornet, and why people don’t see a Dodge Hornet? I heard that the vehicles aren’t selling well.

"Hornet" is a name that Chrysler acquired with its acquisition of AMC in 1987 (so it now belongs to Stellantis).

Stellantis is not fooling anyone. Their "Hornet" is basically a rebadged Alfa Romeo Tonale. (In other words junk to anyone looking for reliability or longevity.) This "Hornet" has nothing at all to do with the Hudson or AMC cars that previously wore the name.

?

Stellantis tried the same kind of trick with the Dodge Dart (another storied name from the past) and failed.

Like Chuck said, it's an Italian car. An Alpha Romeo.

North American's don't typically go for European inspired cars. It's cultural thing.

The Fiat 500 also was a flop in N.America. Sales plummeted until they axed it in 2019. They sold less than 200k TOTAL in those 8 years. Average American's don't like uncomfortable little Euro cars. They like big SUVs and trucks.

This Hornet has absolutely nothing to do with its namesake.
