Hey, I’m curious about the best time to change the spark plugs in a Chevy Equinox. Any tips?
Thanks for the reply, I’m not sure what kind though, they’d be whatever came stock in the car back in 2019. It only has about 50k miles on it but wasn’t sure if it would be wise to start thinking about changing them since it’s about 6 or 7 years old now?
Scotty doesn't answer follow-up questions. Modern iridium plugs will last a minimum of 60,000 miles. Take the spark plugs out and examine them. They're most likely fine, iridium is an exceptionally harder metal than copper or platinum plugs. You need to replace them when the gap between the anode and electrode has been worn so that the plug is no longer in spec. With iridium, that takes a lot of time (mileage-based, not year-based).
Well first you have to know what kind of spark plugs it is. If they are those modern fancy spark plugs which sre called iridium they last well over 100,000 mi
